Jung Hoseok, better known as J-Hope, was born in Gwangju, South Korea, on February 18, 1994. he began his career as a dancer and excelled in several South Korean contests.
J-hope was a member of the underground dance band Neuron before making his BTS debut. He was fairly well-known for his dancing abilities and had received a number of local dance awards, including taking first place in a national dance competition in 2008.
In 2010, Big Hit Entertainment hired him, and he started his rap instruction. He is currently one of the group’s three rappers in addition to being a dancer, composer, and producer.
J-hope was the first member of BTS to launch a solo venture. In 2019 he collaborated with Becky G on the single “Chicken Noodle Soup”. This was one of the first songs to feature English, Spanish, and Korean. During J-Hope’s historic headlining performance at Lollapalooza 2022 he and Beck G performed the song. This performance made J-hope the first South Korean artist to lead the main stage at a significant American music festival.
About a month prior to Lollapalooza, he released his first solo album, Jack in the Box. According to him, there was a lot of pressure because he was the first member to go solo. Jack in the Box is a concept album that explores themes of passion, ambition, humanity, insecurity, success, and anxiety about the future. It is based on the tale of Pandora’s Box. It primarily consists of vintage hip-hop music, with some R&B,pop, and grunge.
