BTS stands for “Bangtan Sonyeondan,” which translates to “Bulletproof Boy Scouts” in English. The name was chosen to represent the group’s desire to defend their music and beliefs from the criticisms of society.

The members of BTS are known for their close bond and teamwork, but they almost didn’t debut as a group. Originally, the company that formed BTS had considered debuting each member as a solo artist, but ultimately decided to bring them together as a group.

BTS has been praised for their meaningful lyrics that address social and personal issues, and many of their songs have been inspired by literature and philosophy. For example, the song “Blood Sweat & Tears” was inspired by Hermann Hesse’s novel “Demian,” while “Spring Day” references the book “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas” by Ursula K. Le Guin.

BTS has broken several records in the music industry, including becoming the first K-pop group to reach No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 chart with their album “Love Yourself: Tear” in 2018.

The members of BTS have been involved in various philanthropic efforts, including donating to UNICEF’s “Love Myself” campaign to end violence against children and youth. In 2020, they also donated $1 million to the Black Lives Matter movement and publicly spoke out against racism and discrimination.
